Set up LoonCart in about five minutes

LoonCart puts one well-chosen product offer in your cart page. No theme code, no pop-ups, nothing to design. You pick the offer once; LoonCart handles the discount.

Step 1: Install

Find LoonCart in the Shopify App Store and click Install. Shopify asks you to approve the install for your store. That is the whole install.

Step 2: Create your offer

Open LoonCart from your Shopify admin (Apps > LoonCart) and set three things on the Offer setup page:

• The offer product: what shoppers get, for example a gift wrap add-on, a refill, a warranty, or the accessory that goes with what they bought.
• The trigger: show the offer when the cart total reaches an amount you set, or when a specific product is in the cart.
• The discount: a percentage off, or a fixed sale price.

Add a short heading in your own words, turn the offer on, and save.

Step 3: Add the block to your cart

In the theme editor (Online Store > Themes > Customize), open your cart template, add the LoonCart block, and save. This is a standard Shopify theme block: if you remove it, everything goes back to how it was.

Step 4: Test it like a shopper

Visit your store, add items until the trigger is met, and open the cart. Your offer is there with an add button. Check out and the discount is already applied, because LoonCart creates an automatic discount in your store. If an automatic discount cannot be created (say it conflicts with one you already run), LoonCart creates a discount code instead and shows it in the cart, so the shopper still gets the deal.

Why the cart, and why one offer

The cart is the moment of highest intent: the shopper has decided to buy and is reviewing what they picked. One relevant product, presented plainly at a fair discount, reads as service rather than spam, and it does not interrupt browsing the way pop-ups do. LoonCart deliberately runs one active offer at a time, so the choice stays simple for you and for the shopper.

Good first offers

• The add-on that completes the main product (case, refill, filter, cable, care kit).
• A small treat under a price your customers already spend past.
• The second unit at a discount, for things people use up.
